Œuvre produite par le Fonds cantonal d'art contemporain, Genève pour le programme MIRE. Diffusée sur l'écran situé dans l'alcôve sur le quai de la gare de Chêne-Bourg entre juillet 2022 et mai 2023. 

Prenant comme point de départ Lady into Fox, roman de David Garnett écrit en 1922, Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster propose de suivre une transformation singulière en plusieurs séquences. Le texte raconte l'histoire d'une femme qui se transforme en renarde et qui, malgré les efforts de son entourage, rejoint petit à petit le monde sauvage, endossant tous les dangers qui y sont inhérents. L'artiste se présente à nous dans une atmosphère 1920 et, dans un conte en plusieurs tableaux animés, sorte de fiction mise en abyme, se métamorphose petit à petit. La musique, les paroles cycliques et mystérieuses qui sous-tendent l'image, les couleurs et les tissus qui enveloppent le corps de l'artiste, tout participe au désir d'approfondir les thématiques de l'être en transition, de la lisière entre l'humain et l'animal, de l'incarnation et de l'énigme comme fondement de l'existence. Une nouvelle « apparition » de l’artiste et une œuvre captivante qui résonne longtemps dans l'esprit de celles et ceux qui tendent l'oreille et se donnent le temps d'entrer dans l'espace intime que construit l'artiste.

Taking as her starting point Lady into Fox, a novel by David Garnett written in 1922, Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster presents a peculiar mutation in multiple sequences. The text tells the story of a woman who is transformed into a fox and who, despite the efforts of her entourage, gradually moves into the wilderness, taking on all the dangers inherent in it. The artist presents herself in a 1920s setting and gradually transforms herself, in a tale of several animated tableaux – a kind of fiction in abyme. The music, the cyclical and mysterious words that underlie the image, along with the colours and fabrics that cover the artist's body, all help to deepen the themes of being in transition, of the border between human and animal, of incarnation and enigma as the essence of existence. With her latest "apparition", the artist presents a captivating work that will long resonate in the minds of those who listen and take the time to explore the intimate space that she constructs.
